Even before the land was purchased, the architect visited the site, took one look at the surroundings and immediately knew how the building should be positioned to blend naturally into the landscape.

The same dark colour palette continues indoors, where it contrasts with warm wood and expansive glass windows to create a surprisingly cosy and inviting atmosphere.

At first glance, the three apartments appear quite similar, with almost identical floor plans. But step inside, and you'll quickly notice that each has its own character.

Every detail has been considered, from perfectly organised cupboards and drawers to carefully selected candle fragrances. Many pieces of furniture were custom-made, and if something didn't turn out exactly as envisioned, it was simply made again. It's this dedication to getting even the smallest details right that makes the interiors feel so special.

One thing that genuinely surprised us was the coffee. At Haus und Hof, it's far more than just a complimentary extra. The hosts work with a Salzburg-based coffee roastery that developed a special blend specifically for the coffee machines in the apartments.

Haus und Hof is the personal vision of Magdalena and David, who live next door with their children. Magdalena takes a genuinely personal approach to welcoming every guest. She makes an effort to learn who's arriving and prepares each apartment accordingly.

When we arrived after a long day of travelling, our children immediately spotted a box full of toys waiting for them. Children's tableware and high chairs had already been set out, making our first evening wonderfully relaxed.

We also loved the thoughtful little surprises, from sugar-free snacks for the children to alcohol-free wine, so everyone could raise a glass together. These are the kinds of gestures that turn a beautiful place to stay into a truly memorable experience.
